Look, everyone here knows what you're doing. You want to complain that poor white blokes are being picked on while anyone of colour can do what they want without issue.
But your whine falls apart completely when someone points out that a white bloke did THE EXACT THING YOU'RE WHINING ABOUT a couple of weeks ago.
You're comparing apples with oranges - because comparing apples with apples doesn't fit your agenda (can't think what that might be) and makes you look daft (and a touch racist).
"if it is happening to whitey surely it has to be the same outcome for him" - well good news - exactly the same is happening to him. You must be very relieved.

You don't want to compare what Cole said with the EXACT same thing said by a white bloke?
You want to compare it with something completely different?
Why is that?

Many poor victims have been whipped in the past, you could say thrashed within a inch of their lives, or maybe until actually dead. It has happened on many horrible occasions.
Therefore, *I feel it is inappropriate to use the words "thrash/thrashed/thrashing" in a football context, as it is greatly insensitive towards the vitims and families of people who have really been thrashed.
*Or do I?

Re: Carlton Cole

There have been plenty of pretty brutal massacres throughout history, yet to say after a 7-0 win "we massacred them" causes no offence, so why should this?
Holocaust has been in our language since the 13th century and has been appropriated to describe the Nazi murder of the Jews in WW2. Many Jews use the word Hurban to describe that particular event.

Anyway.
Doubt we are going to influence each other today on this subject.
At least we can keep it civil, see you on the football threads where we agree far more.

Re: Carlton Cole

bigfrank,
No way the two are comparable other than at a sky high level. Carlton vs Vaughan in terms of case study Is whataboutism gone mad which to me as a bland vanilla middle of the roader is just as annoying as people who see offence by proxy in everything.

I don't want anyone losing their job.
The point i am making is, if people like Michael Vaughan (no evidence) are going to be sacked because of something he has said then surely you are going to have to be consistent in how you deal with them.
Another example, Trevor Sinclair.

BJB - But as far as I can make out you're the only one offended on here by it.
Nobody else is that bothered by it, so you're right yo be offended, and we're all wrong not to be..
He really didn't say it in that context, if he did then yes it's offensive.

Big Frank,
Yeah they did cross over so fair play.
But you didn't say like the Cricket thread did you? You said like whitey. Then when an almost identical scenario involving a 'whitey' was stated, with a similar outcome you were left looking, in my opinion, a bit silly.
So now if Carlton, quite wrongly loses work for a few weeks/months work with BT Sport/Five Live because they want to keep a low profile with him, that will make you happy because parity/equality?
Over reaction to a word used in it's correct context with admittedly connotations to a horrific time in history is my go to here.
But you keep doing you.

So Frank apart from Joey Barton (who wasnt 'punished' and just issued an apology for any offence caused and that, quite rightly was the end of it) which whitey do you want Ex West Ham stalwart and current advocate of the Club Carlton Coles 'punishment' to match then?
I would suggest that you assess your colour bias to make them much more C&B

Same with the "paki" debate?
I am not comparing it with Joey Barton. I am comparing it with what is going on in cricket and other forms of racismo
Anyone white will be criticised and never be forgiven
Whereas on the other hand a black, asian (middle eastern) will be forgiven.
Agenda and fixed position? Don't we all ๐๐๐๐ฌ๐งโ
